Slide and asymmetric curtains

Due to Slide's cable mechanism, operating a curtain track with two curtains closing symmetrically in the middle is the most ideal situation for Slide. This is because both curtains will always move the exact same distance.

In case of asymmetric curtains, there are two possible solutions:

1. Moving Slide slightly to the middle

Slide is attached at the end of your curtain track and the Pulley is placed on the other end. If the difference in length of both curtains is not too big, you can move Slide, or the Pulley, slightly to the middle. Like this, you overcome the length difference and effectively create two symmetrical curtains. Please do note that it is important to have metal stoppers on your curtain track to realize this. These make sure that Slide is kept firmly in place.

2. Install two Slides

In case the difference between your curtains is too large, you can install two Slides.

The first Slide automates the left curtain and with the second you automate the right one.
With this solution, it is necessary to mount the Pulley of each Slide to the ceiling. This allows you to close both curtains in the right position.

Above, you see how both Slides are attached. The Slides motors are attached at the ends of your curtain track, directly underneath your curtain track.
The two Pulleys are mounted to the ceiling. Make sure that both Pulleys are placed further than the desired middle. If possible, leave around 1 meter (3,3 ft.) of space between the two Pulleys. This allows the cable to run nice and straight.

During the calibration step in the installation, you can decide where each curtain stops. Like this, you can create the desired middle of your curtains.
